I just finished counting my recently updated pez dispenser collection: I have 163 dispensers.
I wish I was in Atlanta at the National APO Convention.
I wish I was in Newport News and working in the morning. I love my job that much.
I am instead, in Burke at the parents' house
I don't have be in Burke more than 24 hours to remember why I never want to move back here - I find myself in the mindset I was in during high school and that's one place I vowed to myself never to return if I don't have to.
I was revising my resume the other day, and realized how unjust it is to be forced to summarize everything I've done with Camp Firefly since 1999 into two sentences.
after the past few weeks at work, I think I should be allowed to add 'making awesome looking train cars out of cardboard boxes' to my resume - I have it down to an art!
I have the knack for getting camera the end with crappy battery life. ugh.
Rambles, few liner thoughts and whatever else enters my mind and I want to put out there

Freedom
It's official, I am done with school and will have an official piece of paper saying I've got a degree in sociology and minors in childhood studies and psychology.
Happy Founders' Day to all my APO Brothers! 85 years of leadership, fellowship and service!
I seriously wish I was going to the APO National Convention in a few weeks but don't have the money =(
I got a call shortly before 10pm saying local schools were closed for Thursday because of impending weather and subsequently, would not have to show up for work. I think the school system was a bit rash considering nothing has happened yet other than it's cold but can't complain too much about being able to sleep in.
hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia: the fear of long words. irony at its best.
I get mad at the movie of Rocky Horror Picture Show - how damn Tim Curry look so hot, it's not fair!
Of all the things that I could say total throws me off about Rocky Horror Picture show and is totally random, I have to go with the space ship. everything else fits together, but the space ship is just weird.
What's the difference between Santa Claus and Tiger Woods? Santa only has three hos.
Santa Claus: he knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good - he must have facebook.

so raise your glass
It's December. and I have Camp Firefly on the brain.
I am making the transition of turning my on-call job into a permanent job. wish me luck!
On a related note, I'm subbing at a site for the next five weeks while one of their employees goes on maternity leave. I've been at this site every Wednesday since September so I already know most the kids and have been involved with planning stuff. We're working on a play for a holiday party next week and I'm uber excited. I love my job!
the internet has been on the fritz more than usual. it's driving me insane.
I am done with school [work] and am anxious for my grade, which should be posted this coming Monday. here's to hoping for no last minute surprises like what happened in May.
the thing I hate most about winter is chapped lips and having a cold.
I seem to be developing a thing for scarves. not the cold weather kind but the wear-everyday kind. it's a good way to add color to an outfit
I told myself once school finished up, I would start working on developing a budgeting system for myself. I guess it's time to get on that
my camera has become retarded. unless its on the default setting of flash on and no special features, it will take no more than five/ten photos before the fully charged battery dies. It's a rechargeable battery, not the disposable kind, so it means I always have to wait an hour for it to charge before I can take more pictures, which is rather annoying. I might have to start looking for a replacement for the 2.5 year old thing soon.
Of all my teachers, including p.e., music and art, from elementary school, only one is still there. oddly enough, it's my kindergarten teacher.
I saw beanie babies silly bandz the other day. because beanie babies just had to get in on the craze
I have developed a thing for straws. whenever I have a glass of something, unless it's milk, I find myself using a straw
I am hoping that I can turn my goals and hopes for 2011 into reality

Looking for the missing piece but it was never here
My knees are killing me. but the five mile walk with some friends today totally was worth it.
I am starting to wonder if I am merely in love with the idea of love than the reality of being with another person.
Daylight savings time occurs tonight. here's to an extra hour!
My home district for voting for a representative in congress has no official winner from Tuesday's elections because it was too close to call. so now, votes are being recounted and a winner will be declared on Nov 22nd. because presidential elections aren't the only ones that can give headaches.
I have a feeling of giddiness every time I leave the local library. free books? awesome!
I am in love with the new Pink song, Raise Your Glass.
I was invited to a belated Halloween party tonight, but had to turn it down because of homework. schoolwork always ruins fun =(
I will be camping out in Panera for at least two hours tomorrow because of said schoolwork.
I got the October electric bill in today's mail. it was below $50 and I can't help but smile about that.
Conan O'Brien returns to live television Monday, but I must settle on watching him online since I don't have cable. still, this is worthy of a happy dance.

Oh the things you can think
I think it's kinda funny I went to two schools named after bodies of water and then to a college named after a sailor.
My mom ran into my 6th grade teacher last week. besides all these old memories stirring up, she had a comeback to something my mom said that now I'm trying to decide if I should be insulted, impressed or a little of both.
To make sense of a line from the previous entry, I had originally decided to be partly involved with APO this semester but changed my mind mid-September. it was one of the hardest decisions I had to make but for me, I know it was the right one. that doesn't make me miss it any less.
I love renaissance festivals, and have yet to come across one that ranks higher on the scale of awesome than the Maryland renaissance festival.
it's fall break at CNU, which for me the only difference will be no class on Monday. work, homework and life as I know it will otherwise go on as normal.
I seriously love my job.
I am trying to figure out a good halloween costume, even though I have no idea what my plans for the holiday will entail.
I see life as a spectrum. life is full of gray areas.
I miss the days when I could log right into my school email inbox, instead of having to click a few links first.
I recently ruined the Disney song "Kiss the Girl" for myself with one thought.
Just thinking how I am 25 years old, and there is so much I wish I would have done by now. like lose my concert virginity.

Time after time
it is October. I have four boxes of girl scout cookies. that's right, be jealous
I suck at keeping in contact with people.
Year after year, I remember why I love Camp Firefly. the major withdrawal this year only made me remember more.
I just watched Lilo and Stitch for the first time. Love.
I love my job.
My APO life membership pin came today. money well spent
I wish I could wear headbands without getting headaches.
I love doing arts and crafts, especially for friends but always take forever.
I constantly misplace my mail key.
On a ninja - pirate spectrum, I fall in the "Nautical Ninja" category. ninja with some pirate characteristics.
I like the idea of google instant but can't use it because it slows down my already sluggish internet.
another draft that took over a month to complete.

You live, you learn
Sometimes you can hear everyone give the same advice, blow them off only to realize later they were right. As I see all the new freshmen making new memories, new friends and whole new series of firsts, I can't help but be a little jealous and just hope they don't make the mistakes I did. I think of my first semester of college, how I secluded myself in my dorm room with headphones on trying to cling on the past, trying to overcome a huge emotional set back from an event weeks before I went off to college and just overall afraid to put myself into situations I still had some emotional scars from trying before. If I knew then what I learned just a semester later and realized at an even deeper level as the years have gone by, perhaps I would be on a different path than I ended up on. Perhaps I would have taken the perfect opportunity to break out of my comfort zone (after all, everyone's doing it their first semester), learn that the past doesn't always repeat itself and that I know I will make it through, I wouldn't have as many regrets as I have accumulated.
Don't get me wrong, the path I ended up on has given me some people who I wouldn't be who I am without them, I did break my comfort zone in due time and while there are still moments I wish I had done something different than what I did, I can't say for sure I would be where I am today, who I am today if I had done things differently.
granted, I definitely wish I did my homework without procrastination and learned to back up stuff in time.

living on dreams and spaghettios
I am nerdy and enjoy doing math problems the old fashion handwritten way, except I find myself doubting my abilities when decimals are involved.
I enjoy shopping, but without knowing what job I will have once the seasonal one ends makes it hard to justify some purchases.
I realized the other day I have not been to an amusement park since going to Paramount Carowinds the summer before senior year of high school. sad day.
Last week, I was able to get my Microsoft Photo Editor program back. the program has been obsolete since Office 2003 but I still love it because of its simplicity and functionality. I don't care what Microsoft thinks.
I love Starburst FaveREDS
Whenever someone says "sexy librarian" I instantly think of my mom, a librarian, and proceed to shudder.
HotTopic novelty tees are reminding me of the television I grew up on. awesome
The Old Navy near me sucks, and the next closet one is 40 miles away. boo hiss.
I have too many socks.
Camp Firefly starts tomorrow night, and I won't be there for the first time in eleven years. my heart is breaking.
I have been eating out too much recently. blame American culture for making eating such a social activity as well as free wi-fi at Panera.
I am proud of myself for waiting over a year to buy a book I really wanted in paperback instead of splurging on the hardcover.
Everytime I have gone to Target this summer and see their back to school stuff, I am reminded how I still have and use my locker shelf I bought from them the summer before seven grade in 1998. amazing and and kinda sad at the same time.

The '70s had the Hustle. The '80s, the moonwalk. We have the faux-lesbian dance.
got a wall-e pez dispenser. it was the highlight of the day =)
a town in Virginia is NOT missing its idiot known as Ken Cuccinelli
at work, there is a book I skimmed about Mia Hamm and I got all excited when my hometown and high school were mentioned, even though I specifically skimmed the book to find them. the kids called me silly, they didn't even know that second part.
I am moving at the end of the month, and don't even know where. the sad part is I'm really not slacking.
I drove on Girl Scout Road the other day. I was a bit too excited about it. and now I'm on a personal quest to figure out the abandoned Girl Scout Camp nearby is that: abandoned.
borders gives me too many coupons for my own good.
the refurbished phone I bought from verizon can't hold a charge very well. well, that wasn't the whole point of buying it at all.
last week, I bought a nintendo game cube at a thrift store for $9.50. I am trying not to think how it's a tad pathetic that I will pay more for games than I did the system itself.
today, had a veronica mars marathon. forgot how much I loved that show.

an entry almost two months in the making
I consider a day productive when I do a daunting chore I have been putting off for weeks, or in some cases, months.
currently have a love-hate relationship with the DMV. hate that they forgot to tell me something critically important but love that while clearing up that matter, they let me renew my license five months early.
I am officially no longer my APO Chapter's webmaster, a role I have held for three years. it feels weird.
it's sad that the main reason I no longer keep myself updated on the local news from home is because I didn't like a website design.
I am fighting a war in my apartment. it's me verse gnats. there might be more of them than me but I have a can of bug killer and know how to use it.
construction on Warwick Blvd that has been going on for ages is nearing completion, I enjoy driving 45 on parts just last week I was only allowed 25.
last night, many years late, I finally finished the Harry Potter series. major props go to J.K. Rowling.
I just looked at some photos of my old high school my old drama teacher posted. they got rid of the flag hallway, or for better words, got rid of the flags that gave it the name flag hallway. a little part of me just broke.
never quite understood why different subject areas like to cite different ways. can't we make some universal research citation guide?!
I am the cursed computer girl. fortunately, it has yet to affect any computers I use other than my own.
I started this entry as a draft on April 19th. I am just getting back to it.
