Last night at the grocery store, their sound system was playing Savage Garden's Crash and Burn. I totally sang along.
One thing I love about Virginia is we have amongst the highest number of people with vanity plates. it makes driving along highways fun.
Yesterday, while driving on the highway, I passed a truck broken down. this truck had picnic tables strapped to it, and the driver and his passenger were sitting at the one on their truck bed, eating while waiting for assistance. it made me giggle.
I have decided that the one feature my next car MUST have is cruise control. I am fine without automatic locks, windows, etc, but cruise driving is a necessity. driven on highways too much to not want to take advantage of such feature
I am sitting in my room at my parents house, looking around at all the random trinkets and stuff, and realize majority of them tell a story.
I find it kinda funny that what is now a sleep shirt was once a shirt for a job.
There should be a store that sells strictly glow and the dark stuff.
Purple is my color.
Last night, my mom asked me what a cock-block was. because that's not awkward at all.
For the first time in my college career, I have an overdue library book. and there's nothing I can currently do about it since I am over 150 miles away from the library.
My high school year books weigh 5 pounds. each.
I really want to go camping.
I really want to see Wicked.
Today is one of those days where I put my hair up without thinking, it turned out good and now I'll want to recreate the look, but never quite get it right.
getting my parents addicted to NCIS, because I'm a good kid like that.
Rambles, few liner thoughts and whatever else enters my mind and I want to put out there

Happy April Fools Day!
Saw an amazing moonlight on the ocean and then watched the sun rise on the same ocean. All in the name of doing my parents a huge favor.
I am trying to take a look at my degree evaluation just to make sure I am really just a few weeks and a handful of assignments away from graduation, but the system won't load. of course, I get the urge to check on things the same day people are overloading the system by signing up for classes.
The ocean makes me relax. perhaps one day, I will live with the ocean outside my window, or at least with the ocean just a few miles away.
Google is throwing me off today by calling themselves Topeka. yes, I realize it's because the town in Kansas temporarily changed their name and because it's April fools day, but that doesn't stop me from tilting my head in confusion very time I go to that page.
Always stuck in that debate of when to give up and when to try harder. doesn't help I flip-flop so much.
Yesterday, I bought a skirt of my own free choosing that is for casual stuff. the more I go girly, the more I somewhat scare myself. now to attempt to conquer this make-up thing
Often, I wonder: how does everyone know this common sense social etiquette stuff and I don't?
The first step is admitting you have a problem, but what's the second?
I unintentionally have a word/phrase of the week every week. this week: ballin'
I watched some original Sailor Moon last night, and laughed at the cheesiness and over-dramatics of it all. because bad acting (even if it's animation) makes me laugh.
Part of me hates April fools day because I can't always tell what's meant to be a joke and what's not, or hear/read jokes I wish were true.

It's not always rainbows and butterflies
Liisa has decided to follow me. look at me, I have a follower!
my 101 things in 1001 days is becoming a bucket list, because procrastination happens and deadlines and motivation work against each other.
I am most at peace in nature.
Friends are telling me I should go into law enforcement, cop-related except not a cop. too many reasons I don't trust myself with a gun.
hmm... maybe I should become a park ranger. law enforcement (but not cop) and nature. but then again, they carry guns, don't they
I am filling out the Census form for myself for the first time, and am actually excited. nerd?
Conan O'Brien is doing a stand-up tour. it's called "Conan O'Brien - Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour" (such a wonderful title!)- there's a stop in D.C. on June 8th and I just need to find someone to go with me and tickets will be booked. I am dead serious about this. I spazzed when I saw there'd be a stop in D.C.
Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart is the most amazing combination of comedians EVER. just wish that I could view the last part of their brawl but NBC won't let anyone post the video and took it down off their website ages ago. buggers.
There's a fine line between explaining yourself and TMI. unfortunately, I always figure out I cross the line too late.
I know I need to start looking for a job for once graduation arrives, but it's so stressful and I don't need/want any additional stress. the lack of success during my search in January/February doesn't lift my spirits much either. my motto: first things first. as in, get the degree first, then search for jobs.
fall 2010 marks twenty years of me being a registered girl scout. huzzah! I shall celebrate by either eating Girl Scout cookies or some Edy's Girl Scout cookie ice cream.
I sometimes feel like I live life in reverse. more of those events that should happen later in life happened all by the time I reached college, and stuff that should happen before college will likely occur after (still got a few months, so we'll see)

she likes to sleep with the radio on so she can dream of her favorite song
I log onto ratemyprofessors.com roughly every other day, but have not posted a rating or looked at professor's ratings for my classes in over a year.
Britney Spear's Stronger is empowering, which is perhaps why I listen to it when feeling emo.
I never get tired of listening the LFO's 'Girl on TV'. one of my all time favorite songs.
I love leisure reading and spend more money than I should on books. so now I resolve to spend less on books and instead hit up the library! libraries: saving bookworms money
I can snap using my thumb and middle finger better than any other finger/thumb combination.
Tonight, I learned how to change a tire, because I got a flat tire. it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Instead of getting a class ring, I am having the money be put towards resurrecting my dead external hard drive. much rather get all the old photos, videos and documents back than a piece of jewelry I'll probably only wear once or twice. my priorities are in order
Spring break 0'10 was a complete bummer. homework, drama and chores. oh, and snow. because no spring break is complete unless it snows.
2012: the year the world might end. the year the Girl Scouts celebrate 100 years. coincidence?
Right now, I hate being a citizen of Virginia. between the state budget that has massive cuts from public education to the talk of allowing discrimination of sexual orientation in the workforce again, overturning a policy just put in place in the last few years, our state government thinks going back to the stone age is the way to go and it sickens and shames me.

I'm with CoCo
2010: the first year since middle school I decided not to get a wall calendar. this is more related to I did not see anything I particularly liked this year. why spend money on something I don't like?
making other people smile makes me smile.
mmm. creamcicles.
I am anything but a fan of NBC right now. because while I understand more people favor Jay Leno and that Conan appeals to a certain audience, it's more of them going back on a deal this soon that annoys me like hell.
I would like to work at least one retail job in the next few years, it's simply an experience that I would like to have for better or worse.
the trip down memory lane is a painful one. nostalgia sucks.
Circle of Life from the Lion King always makes me relax.
there are some foods that I only eat when eating out, and other foods that I refuse to eat out. this is because restaurants tend to make food better than me, and if I eat it out, then cooking it on my own just doesn't taste as good anymore. yes, this does related to my tendency of eating chicken tenders.
I refuse to admit my one external hard drive is really dead to the world, even though the only way to get stuff off of it will likely involve a lot of money and some fancy computer people.
Just watch videos from retreat last fall. good times.
I have my secrets. some parts of my past are better left behind.
Everytime I've postponed graduation, I wonder if it will aid in my hope to have a real relationship before graduating. still nothing.
For someone who has never been in a relationship, I am a rather hopeless romantic. don't need a prince charming (perfection gets annoying anyway), just a guy who wants to wants to be with me for the right reasons and feels the same way about me as I do him.

rambles and wishes
Is it me or my camera that is resulting in the bad photos?
Even though I only bought a gift for a friend at the store and critiqued the store and its products with the friend I was there with, I've decided after only one visit that I really like the store "Charming Charlie". there's something about that large of a store that is 90% jewelry/accessories that makes a girl love it.
We've also come to the consensus that Owls are currently the hot fashion animal right now, though we think some of the stuff is a bit creepy.
I browsed around the craft store and my interest of making jewelry was heightened. fortunately, I only walked out with one set of beads, that was on clearance.
I wish I could wear headbands, but I can never find any that don't give me a headache after an hour.
I want to figure out how to be more mature. I am tired of constantly being considered a kid, and one of the reasons, according to my friend, is I don't appear as mature as I could.
I have the odd habit of wanting books in a series to all be either hardcover or paper back. having a series that is mixed between paperback and hardcover peeves me.
My laptop A/C adapter keeps dying, which might be related to a new, different kind of battery.
And now, for some wishes for the new year
-I wish to finally graduate, six years in college is enough for me
-I wish to find a job, not only for the upcoming semester but one for when I finally do graduate.
-I wish to NOT move back into my parents house, but to stay in the Hampton Roads area. this will require finding a roommate and job.

You can sit beside me when the world comes down
I am cursing my genes. There's a thick impossible mess on my head known as hair and it would seem my dad's been getting the same comments I have since he's been in college about appearing younger than he is. Was upon a time, the thirty-something year old navy captain that is my dad was regularly mistaken as a college freshmen. oye.
I asked for wardrobe help in form of a facebook note, and then it dawned on me what I can do - different neck cuts and stop neglecting my jewelry.
Headbands would be nice if they different give me headaches.
Adventures that I'd like to do in the next semester include but are not limited to: Colonial Williamsburg (never been?!), Presidents Park (also in Williamsburg) and a science museum with friends (ie Richmond Science Museum).
Painter Markers are my new best friend.
I have come to realize that best friends are the people who you can be separated by space and time, but when you reconnect, nothing has changed between you.
2010: the year that Daria officially and finally comes out on DVD
my old external hard drive is a step away from being lost to the world. the only thing stopping it is my refusal to give up. so much data on it that I don't want to lose, but also don't want to spend thousands of dollars on to retrieve. damn technology.
<3 Libraries. Saving bookworms everywhere money.
Target isn't heaven, but it's like two steps below.
My goal in life is easier said than done. the goal is to be happy.
Once you have a walk in closet, it's very very hard to switch to anything else. This is from experience.
I can not read more than two scroll lengths worth of reading online without struggling.
Why is that clothing always looks better online than it does in person?

Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements
My printer is a whore and I found out after five years that I've been supporting its habit. damn printer.
CNU should get David Bowie and some dancing muppets to go with this ever changing labyrinth that's going on.
I still get the urges to beat someone up just to prove to everyone, including myself, I can.
I know where I've been. not everyone believes parts and no one knows as much as they think they do. I think I prefer it that way.
I find it hard to compliment myself or admitting that I'm good at something. I'm beating myself up with a smile on my face.
Sometimes, I feel like I am afraid to be happy because I know it won't last nearly long enough.
Really wish I had my external hard drive with all the goods on it.
I feel like I am frozen in time and am jealous of those moving forward.
College is fun, but those damn classes get in the way
I will probably forever hate my hair. thick, wavy hair on someone who doesn't like to put more than five minutes into fixing it is a terrible combination.
There are secrets I keep to myself, only because the reaction I anticipate isn't one I want.
I hate that I find myself gossiping so much, but there are times that I hate the silence and my life feels too dull to talk about.
I wish I could figure out when guys were flirting with me at the moment they are flirting with me, not a month later. there have been a few guys I missed out on, simply because I didn't put the pieces together in time.
I love pickup games (informal sporting events), but my favorite specific sport is soccer. I would love to pick it up again.
My philosophy on killing bugs: if they're outside, I'll shoo them away. if they are inside, well that's my environment and they are trespassing, thus they must die. I will and can kill any bug I manage to catch.
Women's brains are like spaghetti and men's are like waffles. women have all their thoughts somehow connected, flowing from one to another, while men have compartments, that rarely intermix.
my thought process rarely makes sense to other people, but if I announced each step of getting from one idea to another, it would make a whole lot more sense.
I want a jumping photo of myself

p.s. I lost the game
APO: drives me crazy at times but I know I would not be who I am without it
This girl is always looking for a cotton black halter top. a simple item that seems impossible to find.
I love converses, it's a shame that the shoes are so thin and have their backs wear through in less than a month.
On a similar note, the back of the shoe is always the first to wear for me. probably is related to the bad habit of forgetting to untie my shoes before taking them off.
The number one thing my parents complain about when I am home: I slam the toilet lid in the bathroom that their bed is on the other side of the wall of.
You know you have too many emails when you can't remember what email a website account is linked to, and thus lose at trying to reset a password.
There are some things that I always forget but am ashamed/embarrassed to put memos up around my room to remind me.
I need to find a job since my current job is no longer available to me after December 11.
http://1000awesomethings.com/ is a website someone posted a link to on facebook. I am sharing the smiles it has brought me.
One of my resolutions to save some money is to buy less books, especially hard cover books. instead, I am taking advantage of my local libraries or at least waiting until a book comes into paperback.
Why must books always come into hardcover before paperback? I would think the paperback is cheaper to produce.
Another resolution: drink more water. in fact, I should add that to my 101 Things in 1001 Days
also, still looking for suggestions of what to add to that incomplete list.

thoughts of the moment
I am becoming self-conscious about my body odor because of a automatic air freshener. but do I really smell that bad even right after a shower? *grumbles*
I am looking for photographic inspiration. I am also feeling let down by my camera - the photo quality is starting to suck and that is not cool. I am considering to start looking for a second hand DSLR, since they get better quality photos but a second hand one would be cheaper and better for a noob.
I just called myself a noob.
It is November 4th (well, now it's the 5th) and after a week of cold weather, we all the sudden had a huge ass thunder/lightening storm. the strangeness of it freaked me out, usually I love storms like these.
I am disappointed in myself for not voting, I forgot to apply for an absentee ballot in time and was unable to do the 2.5 trip home to vote. I believe that if you didn't do the duty of voting, then you don't really have a right to complain about the results. It's going to be a very long four years. *grumbles some more*
I had originally wanted to do my internship at the Boys and Girls Club because the recreational atmosphere for children is where I would like to see myself after graduation. The internship has confirmed how happy it makes me.
I really dislike when people take photos of me, and then never share them. this currently applies to three different friends.
Every time I go to a public library, I am reminded how much I love those places. good reading material without the cost!
I have a website to build, and another one to tune. so much work, but it'll be worth my time.
Today, I was told the formula for happiness, and did not get a chance to write it down.
