May your past be the sound of your feet upon the ground

As of about two weeks ago, I am 27.  some gut feeling is telling me 27 is going to be better than 26.

had four dreams in a span of two weeks about someone I am no longer on the best of terms with.  perhaps these dreams actually mean something...

last week I did my mom's dirty work of buying campaign buttons.  she collects them but usually sends me to actually buy them.  going into those offices made me cringe.

as I was getting the one button, the lady asked if I was old enough to vote.  this is my third presidential election I've voted in...

last week, a coworker said Twilight was better than Harry Potter.  my supervisor and I almost jumped her.

I've never understood why replacement razor blades are so damn expensive.

I lost track of time tonight and forgot to watch Once Upon a Time.  tad annoyed with myself.

my favorite thing about fall is the leaves.  their colors, crunching them, jumping in them, etc.

Old Navy has a commercial with the Backstreet Boys.  it's a guilty pleasure to looking it up on youtube.

I've pretty much decided what to be for Halloween, and now I must find the pieces for the costume.

good luck mr. gorsky

today while in the candy aisle of the grocery store, a lady asked me if I was a connoisseur of candy.  I replied "sort of" - she then asked me the best kind of chocolate for s'mores.  "Hershey of course!" - I am definitely a girl scout.

in the process of filling out paperwork to officially/ more regularly get back involved as a volunteer with the girl scouts.  woot!

last week, I wore my hair down to work since it was still damp from a shower.  a coworker told me she was trying to figure out for ten minutes from afar who I was.  apparently she's never seen me with my hair down

I decided for my 30th birthday, if I still like the tattoo idea I have (three stars on shoulder blade) I am going to get it.  that's in three years.  the thought of this also makes me shutter about being old.

officially got booted over to facebook timeline.  hate.

would it be strange to want a manikin head to practice hairstyles on?

it probably means something, but what exactly is debatable, but I was noticing that there are more attack ads on Obama from third party sources than there are actually from Romney.

Camp Firefly has renamed the New Lodge "Firefly Lodge" - my idea of "New Lodge" wasn't amongst the choices, even though I made the argument that's what we will all continue to call it anyway.

can't start a fire without a spark

another year of camp .  I have done camp for over half my life now, and have been on adult staff for eight.  that's kinda scary.

Alongside another adult, we accidentally set off the camp-wide emergency siren Tuesday night.  they should really label big ass switches.

Saw a news story spoiler that it wasn't really the queen who parachuted down in the Olympic opening ceremony.   I think deep down, we all knew that but the confirmation still took the marvel out of it anyway

Some music videos should never be watched unless you want disturbing images to go along with what you thought was an enjoyable, good song.

I seemed to have developed a small southern twang after spending all this time in Newport News.  this scares me somewhat.

Apocaloptimistic: someone who knows it's all going to shit, but still think it will turn out ok.

As of August 5th, I have still not been forced over to the facebook timeline.  every day when I log on, I celebrate that fact.

This one's for you and me, living out our dreams

Sept 24 - birthday.  Sept 25th - season 10 premiere of NCIS.  cant decide which I'm more anxious for.  it's looking like an awesome week, regardless.

The other day, I deposited a rebate check from my health insurance company for 71 cents.  I laughed at myself as I did it.

I may or may not be seriously obsessed with glow and the dark stuff.  it excites me way too much whenever I see it in stores.

I also seem to have a strange obsession with back to school stuff.  seriously, office supplies also excite me in ways they really shouldn't.

Train seems to be one of those bands that even when they change their style a bit over time, it's still good listening music.  their recent songs are so damn catchy!

finding a bug in my apartment doesn't scare me as much as the thought there probably are bugs I haven't found.

http://iwastesomuchtime.com - a very accurately named website that provides me with constant smiles

one thing I love about girl scout camps is camps name.  the downside is if you have a name long enough, there's no point in trying to change it because no one will remember to call you the new one.

every time Move Like Jagger plays at work, I feel the need to correct my kids and tell them that not only is Jagger a person, who IS still alive, but he can also move very well, though personally I prefer to ignore his entire ugly head.

in tough times, I remind myself that I can do the impossible. seriously, I failed Math 125 with Tong once - a professor at CNU who has the reputation of being impossible to fail.

Wait, it's Wednesday?

Never have I ever played Angry Birds.

my current ringtone is Mahna Mahna from the muppets.  every time it rings, it makes me smile.

everybody I know seems to be getting engaged, married and/or having kids.  I'm still waiting on my first real romance.

in five years, I want to have my own place, a full time job I enjoy, a dog and been in at least one real relationship.   the trick will be turning this dream into a reality.

June 9 - an opportunity to do two of my favorite things at once: girl scouts and APO.  totally taking advantage of this.  and I get a free t-shirt out of it, which makes things even awesomer!

one of our parents brought in five newborn puppies when picking up her son at work.  they were so small, my guinea pig is bigger than there are.  they were adorable.

I thought I got stand-n-stuff taco shells at the store the other day, but realize I got normal hard shells.  this kinda upsets me, because my taco kept falling over as I was putting it together.

got a snail mail letter from a friend last week.  it balanced out the badness of getting a bill.  bills are never fun.

every night, before I go to sleep, I think that I really need to replace the nut on the back of my headboard so it stays on tight and stops squeaking.

for a pessimist I'm pretty optimistic

apparently, unknowingly to myself, I've discovered the fountain of youth or am Benjamin Button.  for the longest time, I would be pegged as 17 but now I'm starting to be pegged as 16.

I have more determination than ever to make things work for me so I'm not forced to move back to my parents at the end of this lease.

what currently really annoys me about facebook is the timeline layout is messy.  I also hate putting information in my profile because it wants to create a link out of everything.

I'm tired of my life feeling like it's in a stalemate.

Dear heart, please don't embarrass me or do things we'll regret later, Sincerely, brain.

Failures seem to outshine accomplishments.

Muppets 2 movie has been announced.  I'm already excited.

Dick Clark passed away last month.  some people believe this is a true sign that the world will end this year, because Dick Clark won't be there to bring in the new year.

One of the classes at the school I work at had baby ducks.  omg, so adorable - all yellow and fuzzy, though they sounded more like my guinea pig than ducks.

I have the sudden urge to watch Sister Act.

Some of us sail through our troubles, some of us have to live with the scars

Out of curiosity, I figured out how many schools Fairfax County has.  200 (give or take a couple). 139 are elementary, 20 are high school, 24 are middle schools, 4 are secondary schools and the rest are special education/alternative schools.  while a lot of areas are discussing closing schools, Fairfax is building them.

I got my work schedule for spring break today.  I'm going on the field trip.  to the zoo.  *squee*

I'm planning on reading the hunger games this weekend.  I'd do it sooner but I get so into it and then lose track of time and therefore sleep.

I have decided that by summer camp, I will have learned and be able to french braid my own hair.

I decided that next spring, I want to try to join a soccer team - something I haven't done since 5th grade.  I need to be able to run without constantly having to stop first.

today, I had a bunch of kids teach me the wobble.  8am dance parties continue to be amazing.

I really miss camping.  and camp fires.

I learned that an old friend of Mike's is naming her son after him.  it makes me happy and sad at the same time.  he'd be 32 tomorrow.

I've been having a lot of flash back dreams recently or dreams about people I haven't seen in a long time.  wonder what to think about them (other than the obvious of I need to catch up with some people)

I just broke down and turned on the a/c.  it's still the first week of spring, but it read over 90 degrees today.  global warming does exist.

Pi Day!

it may be Pi Day, but looking at my to do list, it seems more like cleaning day.  clean guinea pig cage, clean various rooms in my apartment, clean myself (shower).

Girl Scouts turned 100 on Monday.  I am thankful for the organization that has given me many amazing memories and experiences and all the more to come.  I would not be who I am if I had not been in Girl Scouts.  I celebrated by having some Thin Mint Ice Cream.

we're having 8am dance parties at work.  just another reason I love this job.

technically, it's still winter according to the calendar but I'm wearing shorts.  this isn't right.

I really want a pedicure.  not so much for the nail polish part but the buffing and foot massage part.

Two Broke Girls has been signed for a second season.  yay!

I got to pull legally the fire alarm at work today.  highlight of my day.

I also got to tape up a kids leg because her boot zipper broke.  I enjoyed it a bit too much.

picked March Madness brackets for work.  I don't expect to do well, considering I never even heard of the school I chose to win it all before today.  but considering I'm doing this with a bunch of kids, my playing field is relatively even.

perfecting the art of barely getting by

When people my age or older complain about finding their first gray hairs, I feel no sympathy.  I remember my first gray hair at age 20, found by some kids at the summer camp where I worked.

the cost of even my essentials (food, gas, internet) continue to rise but my pay rate stays the same.  the art of barely getting by gets more dicey all the time.

International Women's Day feels almost ironic the way Virginia politics have been recently.

forced to wear my glasses today.  if it wasn't for the eye strains and/or headaches that usually occur, I might seriously consider wearing them more often.

I bought the book Hunger Games today.  curiosity got the better of me and Walmart had it for $7

I discovered green apple twizzlers pull and peels.  a.maze.ing.

Mr. T. is in an old navy commercial.  he must really need the money, especially since he reminds me of the oompa loopas in the commercial.

I am signed up for year 14 of Camp Firefly.  it's never too early to start stocking up on glow sticks.

I have the impeccable ability to always catch 9:24, whether it be am, pm or both.  birthday time!

I need a hair cut and am in the mood for change.  but unless I want to shell out some serious money [that I don't have] my options are very limited.  the curse of thick, wavy hair.

happy 200

I think in another life I was a tight rope walker at a circus.  I like climbing and balancing acts.

my guinea pig has the same mental capacity as the seagulls in finding nemo.  I crumple a piece of paper and she starts squealing "mine?  mine?"

I literally got mobbed with hugs yesterday when I went to cover at another center.  it's the ultimate mood lifter.

One of the 3rd grade boys started singing spice girls randomly yesterday.  quite a few variations of the word surprise there.

NCIS episode 200 tonight.  fan girl spazzing.

Charles Dickens would be 200 today.

I did not watch the superbowl.  I watched the new season of Beavis and Butthead instead.  it's so stupid and yet I can't peal myself away.

every time I read about Barnes and Noble struggling, I get paranoid.  I can't imagine life without being able to hold a physical book in my hand, not to mention it's my go to spot for retail therapy.

I am trying to be responsible and not reinstall Sims 3 until I finished some projects.  just because I'm out of college doesn't mean I won't find ways to procrastinate.

March 20th - muppets on DVD.  I'm excited.
